How was your weekend?
I had the great one! On Saturday together with my little family, we went to Basel for Street Food Festival. This is my second food festival and I am absolutely so into it!

J and I LOVE food. Yes, we love to eat and savour different tastes.
We love to try different places for dining or simply having a cup of capuccino. This food-festival-fever just started recently when we went to another food festival in Passugg, Chur. At the beginning J was quite reluctant to go, but at the end he was the one who wanted to stand in the line for the food.
What was the word; men, right?! :o)

Halloumi

Pommegranade Sugar Cane Juice

We tried several different kinds of food and I must say, the festival was bigger than I thought. There were a lot of people but it was not as packed as the food festival in Passugg. My favorite one was Halloumi, I can't get enough of this goat cheese and Rania anyway, she is the big fan of cheese. While biting this cheese I suddenly was thinking of its origin country, Cyprus. I just want to eat it over and over again.
Since the sun was shining so brightly (yay!) we went to juice bar and tried Pommegranade Sugar Cane Juice. It was the highlight of the day to me. The real thirst killer!

On that day I was very happy, not only because of the food but the weather was so great. It was warm and comfortable to walk around without jacket. I am quite fed up to always carry around some equipments agains the cold and wind. So when there is the chance to wear light clothes or open sandals, I will go for that!

Lately I haven't shared much posts with statement necklace. People who know me on a daily basis know exactly that I adore statement accessories. This time I am featuring statement necklace from H&M. I love how the big feather element could elevate your casual look. The dark color enables me to combine with many different colors. White and black Zara top, simple blue jeans from Mango and a pair of open sandals from Michael Kors accompanied me to walk around at food festival.
And you know what? I am learing to carry smaller bag. Yes, I am known as the shopper bag lover. But recently I am carrying this Prada bag and actually it felt great to not loading my bag with well, basically everything.

After our stomach were full, we decided to stop by for quick coffee and ice cream then strolled along Rhine river to enjoy the view. I always love the vibe in Basel, which is known as an art city. People in Basel look so laid-back.

It is different energy from Zurich. I lived eight years in Zurich and it is known as financial centre in Switzerland. People seem so busy and everything has to be in rush, sometimes it tends to be slightly ignorant city. No matter how much I love Zurich as my second home town, sometimes it is so relieving not to see it for a while. Walked along the Rhine and breathe the different air, different smell and different atmosphere was very relaxing.

Has anyone of you visited Basel in Switzerland? Share to me your experiences!

  8. Hey Ika, I see I missed quite a few of your posts - lot of catching up to do! I have only been to Basel twice once with Eva, we went to the Christmas market and once with Markus on our way to Strasbourg. On both occasions I found the old town to be very quaint and charming. Love the photos, as usual you always have the most unique and stunning statement necklaces!
